Ingredients- 500g flour -2 eggs - 60g sugar - 180ml milk - 40g butter - 7g active dry yeast - nutella (as much as you like!) - 2 tablespoons milk (to brush) |
Put the butter in the milk and warm them up in the micrwave, until the butter is melted. |
In a mixing bowl put flour, active dry yeast and sugar |
and mix. Make a hole in the cernter and put the eggs. Gently beat them with a fork. |
Start to knead with the mixer at very low speed adding the milk-butter mixture. |
Knead for about 10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and soft and it doesn't attach at the bowl. You might need to add a bit of extra flour. |
Make a ball with the dough and place it in a bowl covered with plastic wrap. Let it rise for about 2 hours in a warm (and not humid) place, until it double its volume. I usually place it in the oven with just the light on. |
When it has risen enough, put the dough on a working surface sprinkeled with flour. Divide the dough in 4 equal parts. |
Make the layers! 1) Make the first piece of dough flat with a rolling pin, try to make a round shape. About 25-30 cm of diameter. Spread nutella on top gently. |
2) Make the second piece of dough flat and covered the first layer of nutella. Press gently the borders with your fingers. Spread a new layer of nutella on top. |
Spread a new layer of nutella on top. Press gently the borders with your fingers. |
Cut the dough in quarters, then cut them in half and in another half. You will get 16 slices. As showed in the picture, start to twist the cloves alternating the twisting direction. |
Fix the ends of the cloves together so they will form 8 petals. Let the dough rise for 30 to 45 minutes. |
Preheat the oven at 180C (350F). Brush the top of the bread with milk and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until iget a nice light brown color. |
Let it cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes before to serve. Serve cold or warm. |
