This great recipes comes from our Japanese friend Mayuko. She made this marinating sauce once, with chiken drumsticks and thighs, for a BBQ, they were awesome! So we tried to replicate it for a home use with chicken breast, but you can use the same sauce for legs and thighs.
Ingredients- 1 chicken breast (or 2-3 chicken tights) - vegetables you like: 2 red pepers/1 zucchini/1 onion - wood sticks
Marinating sauce - 3 tbs of peanuts - Half a bunch of green onion - 1 garlic clove - 1 teaspoon of salt - 3 teasoons of sesame oil
|
First make the marinating sauce: In a food processor mix: the peanuts, the green onions (choppend), 1 smashed garlic clove, |
3 teaspoons of sesami oil and a pinch of salt. Blend until you get a smooth cream. |
Cut the chicken in small pieces (3x3cm), add the marinating sauce and mix. |
Cover it and let it rest in the refrigerator overnight. If you are in a rush you can leave it even a couple of hours and it will be fine. |
Before to make the skewers, clean and cut the vegetables you chose. We used red bell peppers. On each wood stick alternate a pice of pepper with a picese of chicken. |
Warm up a grill pan and place the skewers to cook. You need to turn them frequently to not burn them. |
Cook them until the chicken is cooked (more or less for 15 minutes). Serve warm. |
