Japanese Pork Stew

You don't need any special skill for this recipe, you just need time. This final sauce is good also for other dished. Example: hot vegetable, chicken steak and fish steak.


- 500g pork (leg)

- 1 onion

- 100ml sake

- 100ml soy sauce

- 3tbl sugar

- 700ml water (it could depend on your pot. You need to cover the meat with the water.)

- green onion (for decolation)

- red chili pepper (if you want it spicy)

Prepare your meat in a net. Dice the onion and place it in a pan.

Add the meat and cover it with the water.

Add the soy sauce, the sake and the sugar. Bring to boil.

If you like spicy food, add the red chili peppers in the broth. Keep cooking it for 1 hour. After an hour remove the meat.

Before eating, boil the sauce untill the amount become 1/3 - 1/2. Chop the green onions.

Slice the meat.

Serve it warm with the sauce and some green onions on top.
