The GrandMa Chocolate Cake is the evergreen of the cakes, simple, soft and yummy!
Ingredients- 150 g of flour - 2 tablespoons of dark cocoa powder - 50 g of dark chocolate - 3 eggs - 1 teaspoon of baking powder - 150 g of sugar - 50 g of butter - 200 ml of milk - 50g of chocolate chip (white or dark) - optional
|
Divide the egg whites from the yolks. Start by whipping the egg whites until they become a dense foam. Save it for later. |
Cut the butter in small pieces and leave them warming up at room temperature. Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave or in a pan. |
Add the yolks in a bowl with the sugar and mix them. |
When you get a smooth mixture add the butter and mix again. |
When the butter is melted in the mixture add the chocolate and the cocoa powder. |
Add the one teaspoon of baking powder to 150g flour. Misure 200ml of milk. Add the flour spoon by spoon into the mixture. |
When the mixture is too dense add some milk. Continue to add flour and milk, you should get a smooth mixture. |
Add the egg whites, mixing them with a spoon by hands, gently so they won't loose the foam. |
Spread some butter in a cake pan and add the mixture. Add the chocolate chip on top (they will fall down while cooking...) |
Cook for 35-40 min at 180°C (360F) checking with a wood stick the center of the cake: it should come out dry. Serve room temperature. |
