- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- a pinch of salt

- 70g butter, at room temperature

- 150g brown sugar

- 1 egg

- 1teaspoon vanilla extract

- 65g hazelnut

- 60g dark chocolate chip

Mix flour, baking powder, salt

and cocoa powder in a bowl. Measure all the ingredients.

Melt 150g of dark chocolate in the microwave (or bain-marie) and set aside for later.

In a mixing bowl put the butter at room temperature with the brown sugar and mix them until creamy.

In a glass add the egg and beat it with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Add this mixture to the bowl and mix.

Get a flyffy and soft cream. Add spoon by spoon the flour mixture while mixing gently. Mix until incorporated.

Add the melted chocolate and mix.

Chop the hazelnut with a knife ad add them in the biscuit dough.

Add the chocolate chip and mix to form a compact ball. Divide the dough in 2 parts and make 2 logs (about 2cm thick).

Wrap the logs with plastic paper and leave them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. (you can cheat and leave them in the freezer for 15 minutes). When they are well cold, unwrap the logs and cut them in 1cm thick slices.

Place them over a baking paper in an oven tray and bake in the oven at 180C (350F) for 10 to 15 minutes.
